July 25th, 2007 Adam, Matt, and Monte have continued the fight for our music. The official name, if you haven't already guessed it, is "Solar Flare Mistress". We have some new material in the works as we speak, and a couple of shows lined up too. (See the Shows Section). The Website is undergoing some minor changeovers before we give it a major overhaul, but there will be archives of the original Palace Website too... MP3's and whatnot. Also, the myspace site is slowly being created and spiffed up. We should have a couple of tunes up for you very soon. We already started recording a demo, so stay tuned for that stuff!
Old Palace In Thunderland News Archives... R.I.P. Palace In Thunderland 2000-2007
OLD PALACE NEWS BELOW! July 22nd, 2007 After 7 long years, Palace In Thunderland has called it a day. It's been a long and bumpy ride, as Andy said in another blog/post. We would like to thank all the bands, fans, venues, webmasters, and others that have supported us through good times and the bad. We still have some CD's available and t-shirts and stickers, and some stickers if anybody wants them. Let us know... Adam, Monte, and Matt will continue the battle as another band, to be named later. We already have gigs lined up, which will be formally announced soon. On another note, Andy will also continue to bring the rock. He has 2 projects that he is currently working on, and I'm sure you will see him in the scene ver soon too. From one band, others will form. We are branching out, so to speak. It's not over.. it's really just begun.
Thanks to all for your support. Palace In Thunderland
July 5th, 2007 We just attempeted to play a 4th of July Party yesterday, but it was unfortunately rained out. We did get back to the practice space, in preparation for our upcomming tour. As for the tour, we have decided to cut it a bit short, in favor of recording a demo of some very very new material. We feel that it's important to get this new material out to the public as soon as humanly possible. We would like to thank everyone for coming out to the party yesterday in light of the weather. Don'r forget to come out to our CD release party at The Elevens in Northampton. Tomorrow night 7/6/07. Get there for 9/9:30-ish. We will be playing with our good friends Cocked N Loaded from Boston. Should be a hell of a show. Possibly one other band TBA. 21+ Next off, we're going to have a song off of that EP on the V.I.A. compilation of Western MA bands. Omega Sunshine will appear on this comp. Some new shows as well: April 14th we'll be hitting Portland Maine once again to play with our friends and fellow riffsters Supersoul Challenger. All you Maine folks, make sure to come out for this kickass night of rock n roll. April 22nd we'll be playing close to home, at The Elevens in Northampton, along with Boston punk/metal phenoms The Humanoids, as well as locals Hot Black and hopefully The Justice League. This night will showcase some of the best rock, metal and punk you can hear in the Northeast. Be there... Recording news: the album The Apostles of Silence is written in its entirety. All done. We start recording the demos next week, and once the studio plans are finalized, we'll be putting this to tape (hopefully tape...) I'd expect a proper release this year, label is undetermined. If you haven't checked us out on myspace, we have it set up. It's at www.myspace.com/palaceinthunderland
January 20:
Secondly, welcome aboard Matt Netto. He's the new guy hitting the skins. He's solid, he hits hard, and he's everything that the Palace sound has ever needed. Good guy, good musician, he's really adding alot to the tunes, that's for damned sure. Come check him out, he'll be playing that show at The Elevens. Next up, we're gonna try to reschedule our studio time. Netto has to learn a song or two, but it's all coming along and we'll have them down in no time. The album will come out this year, and we hope to tour behind it. We will need a label, and we will find one. Any interested labels, email andy@palaceinthunderland.com. Thanks for standing by us all these years, you know who you are, keep hope alive, and world domination is still at hand. October 5th: First off, I'm holding in my hands the Heaviosity compilation from Gallipoli records. It features such bands as Ditchliquor, Drift, Suns of Thunder, and Whores of Tijuana. Of course, it also has a Palace In Thunderland track, a little number we like to call Sonic Throne. We'd like to send out a special thanks to Kev, Mazz, and everyone at Gallipoli, along with all the other kickass bands on the comp. Here's to many more. You can buy your copy today if you clicky right here - HEAVIOSITY After a brief break in the action, Palace is back and ready to rock. Writing is being completed as we speak for The Apostles of Silence. The album will be recorded in January at Slaughterhouse Studios, with Mark Miller manning the boards. There will be twelve songs, stand by for more info. We've got a few shows coming up. First, we'll be hitting Maine up for the Portland Stoner and Doom festival. Alot of good bands on the bill, including Ocean, We're All Gonna Die, and Supersoul Challenger to name just a few. It's all day, get there good and early. The show is Sunday, October 16th. We'll also be unleashing our specialized brand of fury upon Obriens on October 18th to bring the rock with 400 Blows and Black Helicopter. This show promises to pummel as well. On October 26th, we'll be at Harpers Ferry to play once again with supergroup The Atomic Bitchwax. A slaughter of mass proportions is emminent. November 6th, we'll be at PA's Lounge in Somerville with Supersoul Challenger and Presley. It's been almost one year since we sonically assaulted PA's, and we're pumped to do it once again. November 11th brings Weedeater and Jumbo's Killcrane to Obriens, and we'll be in tow along with The Humanoids. I'm hoping Dixie will once again puke onstage, I'll get him all the double shots of Beam it takes, and y'all can buy him a couple as well. T-shirts are available now, hopefully we'll get an image up soon. Ding Man did the artwork, and they look just swell. Drop us a line if you want one, or get one at a show. $10, all sizes still available. (black with white writing and "Pitface" logo...we'll post a picture very soon) I Want To Buy A Palace In Thunderland T-Shirt! Don’t forget to include what size you want: small, medium, large, or XL
